Our Sauvignon Blanc is made from 100% estate-grown fruit from the stony alluvial soils of the Waimea Plains. Choice parcels, blocks and even rows have been used to capture different attributes we wanted to see in the finished wine. To achieve good aromatic definition, the fermentations were carried out in stainless steel. For a textural component, a small percentage of the final blend underwent frequent lees stirring.
In 1993 the Bolitho’s planted their first vineyard of two hectares - the Hill Vineyard. In total they now have over 140 hectares of vineyards and have been awarded well over 500 medals. With just 2.4% of New Zealand’s production coming from Nelson, this is aregion firmly on the map for fine, crafted wines. Long been referred to as the “Home of New Zealand Aromatics”, today this is a title which all the more endorses Nelson with these outstanding results.
Daffodil and citrus blossoms simply bloom from a glass of our 2015 Sauvignon! An allusion of pineapple and passionfruit comes to fruition as the intensity of this wine builds on the palate.
Punctuated by a juicy acidity and supported by a chalky minerality,this scrumptiously textured wine has a long persistent finish.
Traditional proteinaceous fining agents have not being used in this wine, it is therefore suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Enjoy as a refreshing aperitif or partner with seafood and summer fare.
