A combination from our original Home Block and Rapaura Road vineyard these grapes were harvested in the cool hours of the morning. After cold soak for 4 days in open fermenters and cuves the juice was fermented through to dryness. The wine was then transferred to French barriques for 10 months. After blending the wine was left to settle before bottling on the Wairau River Estate.
Lifted aromas of ripe cherries and spice dominate this wine. The palate is soft and generous with delicate primary fruit characters of wild berries shadowed by subtle toasty oak.
