How we started…
Developed by three generations of Kiwis.
In the late 70s, Bill Cameron, the Founder of Robbie Burns Liquor, had tried to make a cream liqueur to rival the Irish. Having to put his attempts on hold, he imported an Australian product called Conti-Cream. However, the dream of a home-grown liqueur remained…20 years later in 2000, his son Neil developed a recipe - succeeding in creating a fresh cream-based New Zealand Cream Liqueur.
For 15 years, these liqueurs were sold throughout the South Island with a small but loyal following, enjoying distinctive flavours created over time. Now, this family mission of bringing a New Zealand challenge to Irish Cream has been taken up by Bill’s grandson, Wills, who developed this modern recipe inspired by the legacy of Bill and Neil.
Through extensive trial and error, the flavour of butterscotch became the perfect match. Inspired by New Zealand ‘butterscotch toffee’ our product is creamy, buttery, balanced with a rich caramel that we feel does justice to Bill’s original vision.
