Broken Shed
Broken Shed is New Zealand’s premium vodka, made with only three ingredients—and two of them are water. Mineral-rich aquifer water and filtered spring water are combined with sustainable whey to create a crisp, clean vodka with a smooth, warm finish.
Broken Shed Vodka is based in Wanaka, a small lake town in the mountains of New Zealand’s Southern Alps. Distilled, crafted and bottled in New Zealand, Broken Shed is made without any additive. The award winning vodka was founded in 2009 by Mark O’Brien, Mark Simmonds, Steve Turner and launched in 2010 in New Zealand and launched in the U.S. in 2012.
Broken Shed
Broken Shed Vodka was founded in an old shed on Lake Wanaka. The Shed was where the formula was originally crafted and produced; it is now used for tasting events and offices.
With a bit too much extra time on their hands, the founders started making vodka for themselves and their friends in the Shed. While the Shed was big enough to support vodka production for the small town of Wanaka, once launched in New Zealand, production was moved to a facility (still very small by U.S. standards) in Central Otago…it was a water bottling facility.
As demand grew, production moved to a larger facility in Auckland, but we still transport the initial water source to the new production facility.
