A label by Waimea Estates, who are assisting local conservation groups in their efforts to protect the vulnerable and unique species. They are currently helping fund the Tuatara program at Natureland in Tahunanui, Nelson. Every purchase of Spinyback wines will provide direct funding to further education and conservation goals for the world’s only remaining living link to the Dinosaur. Waimea Estates thank you for your support!
The Bolitho family established Waimea Estates in 1993 when Trevor and Robyn Bolitho planted their first grapes on the Waimea Plains of Nelson, New Zealand. The first wine from these vines was produced in 1997 and was an immediate success, winning Trophy for best Sauvignon Blanc in the 1998 Winestate Awards. By 2006 we had planted our Hope, Packhouse, Colin’s and Lansdowne Road Vineyards and built a modern winery on site to support the rapid growth in wine production.
