Harvest 2014 was notable for the excellent quality of fruit produced thanks to a season that was warm and dry for Nelson. Excellent concentration of flavours and ripeness levels were reached several weeks earlier than expected, resulting in an early start to harvesting in the second week of March.
In 1993 the Bolitho’s planted their first vineyard of two hectares - the Hill Vineyard. In total they now have over 140 hectares of vineyards.
Our 2014 Pinot Noir is heavily perfumed, dense in colour and thoroughly enticing! Aromas of dark ripe berries and a sweet soft spice follow through to the palate, complimenting fleshy fruit and fine dusty tannins. These elements gently fade out on the long finish. This wine can be savoured alone or married with slow cooked game, Boeuf Bourguignon, lamb and mushroom based dishes. Though really enjoyable now this wine will reward careful cellaring for 3-5 years with enhanced savoury complexity.
