The original name in French was LA RUCHE with a Beehive logo on the label but there was difficulty with the pronunciation especially for the Chinese and the nickname of BEEHIVE caught on. The unique shape of the bottle was created especially for Beehive, inspired by honeycombs and the name of the brand.

BEEHIVE was born in 1852, and developed by Adet & Curcier families in exchange of the wool imported from Australia and New Zealand in France, BEEHIVE was first exported throughout East Africa, the Indian subcontinent through South East Asia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Burma, China, all the way down to Australia and New Zealand
